A1C Nathan C. Tuttle, age 21 of Hill Air Force Base in Salt Lake City, Utah and formerly of Batesville, Indiana, died Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Hill Air Force Base in Utah. Born February 12, 1985 in Lima, Ohio, he is the son of the late Carol (Nee: Aldrich) and John C. Tuttle of Batesville. He is also survived by his step-mother Linda (Nee: Moeller) Tuttle of Batesville.Nathan was a 2004 graduate of Batesville High School, where he played football and wrestled. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Greensburg, Indiana and was a member of its youth group. He was also a member of Young Life of Batesville. He entered the U.S. Air Force on August 10, 2004 and worked to become Senior Airman. Nathan was an F-16 avionics systems apprentice for the 4th Aircraft Maintenance Unit of the 388th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. He was also a member of the 365th Training Squadron (Tech School). Nathan was awarded the Air Force Training Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Air Force Expeditionary Service with a Gold Border, Good Conduct Medal and the Iraqi Campaign Medal.In addition to his father John and step-mother Linda, he is survived by his brothers Todd Nolan (Traci) Tuttle of Englewood, Ohio, Kevin Wayne (Julie) Tuttle of Lima, Ohio, Jerry Eugene (Felice) Tuttle of Dyss Air Force Base in Abeline, Texas; sister Amy Lynne Shideler of Toledo, Ohio; paternal grandmother Mary Josephine Tuttle of Lima, Ohio; maternal grandparents Harry and Edna Moeller of Hicksville, Ohio; nieces and nephews Nicole Tuttle, Curtis Tuttle, Sydney Lewis, Jason Lewis, Brendan Tuttle, Jheralyn Tuttle, Britany Tuttle and Tristen Tuttle. In addition to his mother Carol, he was preceded in death by his brother Bruce Allen Tuttle and paternal grandfather John Delbert Tuttle.Visitation is Monday, December 18th, from 3-7 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home. Funeral services follow at 7 p.m., with Dr. Lee Riggs officiating. There will also be visitation on Wednesday, December 20th, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Chamberlain - Huckereide Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio. Funeral services follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Lima, Ohio, with full military honors. The family request memorials to the Nathan Tuttle Foundation through the Ripley County Community Foundation.
