Agnes M. Dietz's Obituary
Agnes M. Dietz, age 88 of Batesville, Indiana, died Thursday, June 24, 2010 at The Waters of Batesville. Born August 2, 1921 in Batesville, Indiana, she is the daughter of Agnes (Nee: Laudick) and George Weigel. She married Anthony F. Dietz May 4, 1946 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville and he preceded her in death on April 11, 1997.Agnes was the secretary at St. Louis School for 20 years, where she enjoyed very much being around all of the school children. One of her favorite things was picking up lunch tokens from each of the kids during lunch time. After retiring in May of 1984, Agnes enjoyed spending time working on crossword puzzles, listening to music by Johnny Mathis and was very passionate about watching the game shows Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She was a fan of all types of sporting events, but most especially loved to listen to the Cincinnati Reds.She is survived by her daughter Mary Dietz of Batesville; sons and daughter-in-laws Thomas and Sharon Dietz of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Tim and Susan Dietz of Batesville, Dennis and Sandra Dietz of Batesville, Ron and Gail Dietz of Elkhart, Indiana, Roger and Deborah Dietz of Batesville; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Anthony “Tim” Weigel and Robert M. Weigel.Visitation will be held Monday, June 28th, from 4 – 7 p.m., at the funeral home, with a rosary service at 3:30 p.m. Funeral services are Tuesday, June 29th, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville, with Rev. Dennis Duvelius officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Louis School or the Batesville Historical Society.
