Agnes E. Kuhn's Obituary
Agnes E. Kuhn, age 100 of Batesville, died Monday, February 27, 2012 at The Waters of Batesville. Born November 22, 1911 in St. Peter’s, Indiana, she is the daughter of Mary (Nee: Metz) and George Ripperger. She married Edward Kuhn Sr. August 30, 1933 at St. Peter’s Church in St. Peter’s and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1984. According to her family, to say Agnes loved bingo would definitely be an understatement. For her it was a passion, along with the card game “500”. She also loved Mountain Dew, an occasional glass of homemade wine and was an excellent cook. Her children fondly remember her chili soup and her wilted endive. In her younger days, she did quite a bit of cross stitching and in later years she did some traveling including a couple of cruises. Agnes was a homemaker and a member of St. Anthony’s Church and the Batesville Golden Citizens.She is survived by her daughter Wilma Hoffmeier of Guilford, Indiana; son David Kuhn of Dover, Indiana; nineteen grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she is also preceded in death by her daughter Mary Ann Werner; sons Howard and Edward Kuhn Jr.; sisters Anna Risch, Lena Burke, Mary Gerzanke, Nora Hauser, Alma Luhn, Clara Ritzi, Matilda Bramble, Fran Ritter and brothers Albert and William Ripperger.Visitation is Thursday, March 1st, from 10-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services follow at Noon at St. Anthony’s Church in Morris with Rev. Pascal Nduka officiating and burial in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to Phi Beta Psi Sorority Cancer Research.
