Alois L. Rennekamp's Obituary
Alois L. Rennekamp, age 96 of St. Mary’s, Indiana, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Hospitality Hall in Batesville. Born May 15, 1911 in Franklin County Indiana, he is the son of Mary (Nee: Dirkhising) and John Rennekamp. He married Mary Moorman on October 16, 1940 at St. Mary’s of the Rock Church in St. Mary’s, and she preceded him in death on December 5, 2004. Alois was a salesman for Borne Implements in Brookville and also farmed. He served as manager of the Union CO-OP for 15 years and worked as a barber for 15 years. He was a member of St. Mary’s of the Rock Church and the Cockshutt Tractor Club.He is survived by his daughters Darlene Kohlsdorf of Brookville, Indiana, Charlene Huffmeyer of Napoleon, Indiana, Mary Lou Giesting of Batesville, Indiana; sons John of Sunman, Indiana, Donald of Enochsburg, Indiana, Kenneth of Greensburg, Indiana, Floyd “Bill”, Vernon “Scrub” and Dave “Pooch” Rennekamp, all of St. Mary’s; sister Hilda DePrisco of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; 42 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Helen Rennekamp; brothers Lawrence and Norbert Rennekamp, as well as one grandson.Visitation is Friday, July 27th, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home, with a rosary service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28th, at St. Mary’s of the Rock Church, with Rev. Brian Esarey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Building Fund.
