Alvin A. Harmeyer's Obituary
Alvin A. Harmeyer, age 93 of Batesville, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at his residence. Born July 26, 1912 in Reading, Ohio, he is the son of Mary (Nee: Bothe) and Henry Harmeyer. He married Mary Schebler on February 11, 1942 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Hamburg, Indiana and she preceded him in death on April 30, 2002. He was a member of St. Louis Church and the Knight's of St. John. Alvin was a retired farmer.He is survived by his daughters Bertha Head of Greensburg, Indiana, Judy Keeney of Indianapolis, Indiana, Diana McDaniel of Batesville; sons Dennis, Alvin and Martin of Batesville, John of Enochsburg, Indiana, Lawrence of Grand Prairie, Texas, Nelson of Greensburg, Vernon of Miamisburg, Ohio and Nathaniel of Oldenburg, Indiana; brother Edward Harmeyer of Connorsville, Indiana; 25 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife Mary, he is preceded in death by his daughter Mary Wilhelm; son Richard Harmeyer; sisters Rosella Mueller, Eleanor Raver, Loretta Raver and Marie Harmeyer and brothers Bernard, Henry and Joe Harmeyer.Visitation is Friday, April 7th, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. A rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8th at St. Louis Church in Batesville with Rev. Daniel Mahan officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Margaret Mary Hospital or the American Heart Association.
