Anthony F. Nobbe's Obituary
Anthony F. Nobbe, age 84 of Batesville, died Saturday, December 2, 2006 at Margaret Mary Hospital. Born June 6, 1922 in Hamburg, Indiana, he is the son of Helena (Nee: Cord) and John Nobbe. He married Ida Lecher September 25, 1948 at St. Anne’s Church in Hamburg.Anthony served in the army during WWII and while in Italy he and a couple of his buddies were blessed by the Pope. After the service, he worked at Roman Nobbe, Inc., as a mechanic for over 50 years and also farmed. He was a member of the Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183 and St. Louis Church. He is survived by his wife Ida; daughters Anita Schoettmer of Greensburg, Indiana, Jeannie Nobbe of Batesville, Rita Brebberman of Batesville; son Norb of Batesville; sisters Johanna Billman of Batesville, Frances Rudolf of Beech Grove, Indiana and eight grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by sisters Stella Schebler, Rita Rudolph, Cora Nobbe and brothers Al, Martin, William Edwin and Fred Nobbe.Visitation is Tuesday, December 5th, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home, with a rosary service at 7 p.m. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 6th, at St. Louis Church with Rev. Dennis Duvelius officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183 and the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271. Memorials may be made to St. Louis School.
