Arthur H. Handorf's Obituary
Arthur H. Handorf, age 88 of Batesville, Indiana, died Friday, November 16, 2007 at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville. Born February 3, 1919 in Franklin Co. Indiana, he is the son of Margaret (Nee: Meer) and Ben Handorf. He married Della Kirschner September 29, 1951 at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg, Indiana.Art worked at Fernald (National Lead Co.) as an inspector for over 40 years until his retirement. He served in the army during WWII earning five bronze stars during campaigns in France, Italy and Central Europe. He was a member of the Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183 and St. Louis Church.He is survived by his sister Laura Million of Richmond, Indiana and step brother Bill Stein of Batesville. In addition to his wife and parents, he is also preceded in death by step brother Joe Stein.Visitation is Tuesday, November 20th, from 9-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services follow at 11 a.m. at St. Louis Church with Rev. Dennis Duvelius officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183 and the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271. Memorials may be made to St. Louis School.
