Arthur C. Miller Jr.'s Obituary
Arthur C. Miller Jr., age 92 of Batesville, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville. Born August 30, 1920 in Morris, Indiana, he is the son of Loretta (Nee: Holdgreive) and Arthur Miller Sr. He married Jean Brunner November 16, 1940 at St. Louis Church and she preceded him in death November 6, 1984. He remarried on October 18, 1986 in Batesville to Dolores Green and she preceded him in death January 15, 2008. After serving in the navy during WWII, he worked as an Inspector at the Fernald Power Plant for 20 years and also as a Rural Mail Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 40 years. He was a member of St. Louis Church, V.F.W. Post #3183, Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271 and the Knights of Columbus Council #1461.Artie is survived by daughters Mellonne Gillman of Batesville, Deborah Schaefer of Holton, Indiana, Dena Miller of Charlotte, North Carolina; sons Mac Miller of Batesville, Kip Miller of Houston, Texas; brothers Earl and Bruce Miller, both of Batesville; 14 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wives, he is preceded in death by brothers Floyd and Lawrence Miller.Visitation is Friday May 31st, from 4 – 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 1st, at St. Louis Church in Batesville, with Rev. Randy Summers officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by the Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183 and the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271 of Batesville. The family requests memorials to St. Louis School Tuition Angels or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
