Her family can’t recall a time she didn’t have one or two around the house as pets. She also was an avid sports fan and liked following the Reds and Batesville basketball on the radio. For many years she quilted along with raising a small garden in the back yard and canned what she grew. Her family teased about her love of watching afternoon soap operas and her weakness for hoagies from Ison’s Pizza. They also remember what a fantastic cook she was, particularly her turtle soup and casseroles. Avolyn is survived by her sons Randy of Batesville, Dennis of Greensburg; grandchildren Angela, Natalie, Kirk and Craig Roth as well as four great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by her brother Donald Robbins. Visitation is Friday, March 15th, from 9 – 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Louis Church with Rev. Randy Summers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to St. Louis School or St. Andrew’s Activity Fund.
