Bernard A. Harpring's Obituary
Bernard A. Harpring, age 65 of Sunman, Indiana, died Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. Born September 5, 1943 in Decatur County, Indiana, he is the son of Mary Cecilia (Nee: Hessler) and Bernard J. Harpring. He married Sue Mobley on July 9, 1971 at Laurel, Indiana.Bernard was Director of Maintenance for the Greensburg Community Schools. His true passion was working with and riding horses.He is survived by his wife Sue of Sunman; daughters Tracy (Paul) Hodges, Gina Franklin, Tonya (Steve) Gartenman, Rozetta Harpring, all of Batesville, Anna Harpring of Laurel, Indiana and Jodie Harpring of Sunman; son Jay Harpring of Indianapolis; grandchildren Jeremey and Randy Hodges, Tara, Kelly and Casey Volk, Austin Davidson, Anthony and Trevor Gartenman; sisters Lois Laudick and Elvera Wissel, both of Batesville, Luella Lecher of Greensburg, Indiana; brothers Edgar Harpring of Columbus, Indiana and Vernon Harpring of Batesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Mary Schoettmer and Erma Harpring.Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 13th, from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Andy Street officiating. Memorials may be made to the Bernard A. Harpring Memorial Fund fbo Jodie Harpring at any Fifth Third Bank.
