Bernice V. Brebberman's Obituary
Bernice V. Brebberman, age 72 of Batesville died Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at St. Andrew’s Health Campus in Batesville. Born July 18, 1937 in Morris, Indiana, she is the daughter of Loretta (Nee: Harmeyer) and Walter Wallpe. She married Donald Brebberman September 14, 1957 at St. Anthony's Church in Morris. Bernice worked in the accounting office at Batesville Casket Company for 32 years before retiring in 1999. She was a member of St. Louis Church and the St. Louis Ladies Society. Working and raising her family didn’t leave Bernice a lot of free time but in her younger years she very much liked flowering gardening and up until several years ago, she and Don enjoyed putting out a vegetable garden. Her children vaguely recall being somewhat rambunctious and mom trying to keep them on the straight and narrow. A good cook, they also fondly recalled her chili. In later years she continued to love putting puzzles together as well picking up a couple new interests which were watching CNN and playing games on the computer. She was also a member of a card club for 55 years. It was started by her and several of her classmates when they graduated high school.She is survived by her husband Don; daughters Lisa Ralston of Batesville, Lana Crow of Morris, Karla Dilk of Greensburg, Indiana; sons Timothy of Batesville, Mark of Plymouth, Michigan; sisters Elaine Bentfield of Batesville, Marceda Metz of Cincinnati, Ohio, Rita Baumer of Oldenburg, Indiana, Lucille Sheldon of Dublin, Ohio, Nancy Sander of Cincinnati; brothers Willard Wallpe of Cincinnati, Joseph Wallpe of Evansville, Indiana, David Wallpe of Hamilton, Ohio; nine grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter.Visitation is Monday, July 19th, from 4 – 7 p.m., at the funeral home with a rosary service at 4 p.m. Funeral services are Tuesday, July 20th, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Louis Church with Rev. Stephen Akange officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to The Hansen Center or St. Andrew’s Activity Fund.
