Betty J. Stirn, age 75 of Batesville, Indiana, died Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. She is the daughter of Cecilia (Nee: Becker) and Peter Karbowski. She married Richard Stirn on May 5, 1951 at the St. Louis Church Rectory in Batesville.Betty was a homemaker and a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church and its Ladies Society.She is survived by her husband Richard of Batesville; daughters Carol Voegele of Centerville, Ohio, Beth Barger of Dillsboro, Indiana, Patty Kohlman and Donna Salyer of Batesville, Indiana; sons Timothy, Paul, Mark, Dave, Joe and Andrew Stirn all of Batesville, Indiana; sister Helen Thielking of New Jersey; brother Don Karbowski of Batesville, Indiana; 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Blanche Goldsmith and brother Jim Karbowski.Visitation is Monday, May 8th, from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services follow at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Rob Hanke officiating. Burial will be in the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Batesville. Memorials may be made to the Batesville E.M.S.-10.
