Billie L. Drew's Obituary
Billie L. Drew, age 84 of Batesville, died Saturday, October 4, 2014 at her residence. Born January 7, 1930 in Salem, Indiana, she is the daughter of Della (Nee: Baker) and Paul Ashabraner. She married William Drew December 25, 1948 in Salem. A homemaker and a member of St. John's United Church of Christ Huntersville, she served as Choir director for over 30 years. Billie was also a founding board member of the new Batesville Library as well as a member of the Batesville Order of Eastern Star Chapter 348.
She is survived by her husband Bill; daughters and son-in-laws Deborah and Charles Schantz of Bluffton, Indiana, Cindy and R.D. Jones of Marion, Indiana, Linnie and Gary Fullenkamp of Batesville, Jennifer and Tom Fullenkamp of Batesville; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brother Donald Ashabraner.
Visitation is Tuesday, October 7th, from 4 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 8th at St. John's United Church of Christ with Rev. Dave Johnston officiating and burial in the church cemetery. There will be no visitation Wednesday morning. The family requests memorials to Hospice of Decatur County or the St. John's Choir.
