Bruce E. Dickman Sr.'s Obituary
Bruce E. Dickman Sr., age 77 of Batesville, Indiana, died Friday, November 7, 2008, at Margaret Mary Hospital. Born March 13, 1931 in Batesville, he is the son of Garnet (Nee: Nickell) and Theodore Dickman. He married Eileen Youngman April 21, 1956 at St. Maurice Church in Napoleon, Indiana. Bruce served in the Navy during the Korean War. After the service he spent 43 years at Hill-Rom as a supervisor before retiring in 1994. He was a member of Holy Family Church in Oldenburg, Indiana and an avid hunter and fisherman.He is survived by his wife Eileen; daughters Linda Case of Naples, Florida, Mary Jo Kuntz of Batesville; sons Bruce Dickman Jr., Joe Dickman and Jerry Dickman, all of Batesville, Kurt Dickman of Milan, Indiana; sisters Juanita Nobbe of Oldenburg, Helen Nobbe of Hamburg; brother Larry Dickman of Napoleon; 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by granddaughters Laura Dickman and Elizabeth Kuntz.Visitation is Monday, November 10th, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. A rosary service will be held at 4 p.m. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 11th, at Holy Family Church with Rev. David Kobak O.F.M. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183 and the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271. The family requests memorials to the Holy Family Cemetery Fund or the Holy Family Religious Education Fund.
