Carl V. Kaiser's Obituary
Carl V. Kaiser, age 85 Oldenburg, Indiana, died Friday, September 21, 2007, at his residence. Born June 5, 1922 in Cranberry Prairie, Ohio, he is the son of Frances (Nee: Buehler) and William Kaiser. He married Frances Werner October 25, 1954 at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg and she preceded him in death on May 21, 2001.Carl served in the Army during WWII, earning two bronze stars. Following the service, he worked 16 years as truck driver for Batesville Casket Company and 18 years as a mechanic for the Hill-Rom Company. Carl drove Batesville Caskets’ first company owned truck. He was a member of Holy Family Church, Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183, Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271 and the Ripley Co. 40/8. Carl loved to fish and would go every chance he got. He also enjoyed being with Chaz’s and his friends and often times would whip up breakfast or put on a pot of chili for everyone. He is survived by his son Chaz of Batesville; sisters Rita McGreevy of Versailles, Ohio, Betty Holtel of Oldenburg and brother Victor Kaiser of Batesville. In addition to his wife and parents, he is also preceded in death by sister Irene Treon and brothers Luke and Cyril “Rex” Kaiser.Visitation is Tuesday, September 25th, from 4-8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 26th, at Holy Family Church and Rev. David Kobak will officiate. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Batesville V.F.W. and the Prell-Bland American Legion. Memorials may be made to the Legion.
