Carla S. Ertel's Obituary
Carla S. Ertel, age 51 of Chicago and formerly of Batesville, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006 in Batesville. Born August 17, 1954 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Rita (Nee: Wernke) and Harry Ertel.Carla served in the Air Force from 1977 to 1982. After the service, she work as an antique dealer for Rebecca Anne’s Antiques in Chicago for over 20 years. She is survived by her mother Rita of Batesville; sisters Donna McDaneld of Larkspur, California, Rebecca Simon of Long Grove, Illinois, Cathy Kaiser of Oldenburg, Indiana, Marianne Lambert of Batesville; brothers Ron, Jerry and Kenneth, all of Batesville, Bill of Milan, Indiana and Michael of Indianapolis, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Harry.Visitation is Saturday, May 6th, from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville. Funeral services follow at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg, with the Rev. Humbert Moster O.F.M., officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s of the Rock Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by the Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183 and the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271. Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s Church Window Fund or Phi Beta Psi Sorority Cancer Reasearch.
