Carol L. Beverage's Obituary
Carol Lucile Beverage, age 86 of Batesville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, September 24, 2013 after a short illness. She was born on a farm February 15, 1927 near Mansfield, Ohio and is the daughter of Erma (Nee: Van Antwerp) and John Berry. She graduated from Belleville High School in Ohio in 1945. Following graduation, she helped with the World War II effort in the production of Quonset Hut Buildings for military use. On February 16, 1946 she married Floyd Beverage in Chillicothe, Ohio and shortly thereafter, they moved to Terre Haute, Indiana where Carol worked at the Atlantic-Pacific Tea Company. In 1962 they moved to Batesville. After the death of her husband on July 3, 1978, Carol went to work at the Hill-Rom Company, retiring in 2005 after twenty seven and a half years. She was a member of the Batesville United Methodist for over 50 years. Carol is survived by her daughters Connie (Tom) Wiley of Westport, Indiana, Bonnie Holaday of Guilford, Indiana, Carolyn Beverage of Batesville, Candace Harmeyer of Batesville; son Curt (Jill) Beverage of Batesville; sisters Dorothy Bender Grubb (Joe) of Galion, Ohio, Annabelle Kochheiser of Mansfield, Ohio; sister-in-law Ruth Metcalf of Mansfield, Ohio; grandchildren Stephanie (Todd) Rodgers of Dublin, Ohio, Wade (Trisha) Wiley of Noblesville, Indiana, Amy (Brian) Heslop of Hartsville, Indiana, Heather Wiley and fiancée Hunter Davis of Chicago, Illinois, Reid Meyer of Batesville, Ryan (Tiffany) Meyer of West Harrison, Ohio, Steven Harmeyer, Joe Harmeyer, Eric Harmeyer, all of Batesville, Adam Harmeyer of Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Waukegan, Illinois; eight great grandchildren and special friend and neighbor Rosie Eckstein of Batesville. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by sons Steven and Frank Beverage, two sisters and one brother.In accordance to her wishes, Carol donated her body to the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 27th at the Batesville United Methodist with Rev. Larry Dimick and Rev. Charles Flory officiating. A private service will be held later to inter her ashes. The family requests memorials to the Batesville Food Pantry and can be mailed in care of the Beverage family to Weigel Funeral Home, P.O. Box 36, Batesville, Indiana, 47006.
