She never went out in public without being properly dressed and groomed, although her daughters teased her about always being in command of her surroundings right up until the time of her death. The girls also liked to tease mom and call her Annie Oakley. During her younger years, Catherine was quite a marksman with a rifle and was able to outshoot her six brothers and most of the other boys from the area. She enjoyed playing bridge and in quieter moments, she liked to go fishing, watch game shows and read. She tended to read books that improved ones’ self and kept well versed with current events locally and globally with the newspaper each day. The girls pointed out that with all of interests she shared; family was always the most significant along with her faith. She is survived by daughters Sr. Maury Nordmeyer O.S.F. of Batesville, Jane O’Grady of Osgood, Indiana; two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
