Cellie I. Caudill's Obituary
Cellie Caudill, age 79 of Batesville, died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Margaret Mary Health. Born February 13, 1935 in Letcher County Kentucky, she is the daughter of Eliza (Nee: Hall) and Wilson Fields. She married Harold Caudill February 8, 1950 in Jeremiah, Kentucky and he preceded her in death on January 24, 2013. She was a member of the Batesville Christian Church.Like all good grandmothers, she loved doting on and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She used to do some quilting, but eventually took up knitting and crocheting, making all the grandchildren and great grandchildren hats or purses as they were born. Cellie and Harold always put out a large garden and canned the excess to enjoy over the winter months. She was already planning and fussing over this year’s garden. A fan of the soap “Days of Our Lives”, she has watched it since it began in 1965 and also liked “The Walton’s”. Her family talked about what a wonderful cook Cellie was and some of their favorites included her homemade cornbread as well as her chocolate gravy and biscuits. She is survived by her daughters Luettie Harrison of Batesville, Tilda Fruchtnicht of Napoleon, Indiana, Melissa Broughton of Batesville; sons Dexter of Milan, Indiana, Wilson of Batesville, Carlos of Sunman, Indiana, David of Greensburg, Indiana; 22 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by daughter Ranie Molnar; sons Timothy and Monroe; sisters Nervie, Mary, Rhodie, Gracie, Bertie and brothers Clarence, Green, John and Grant.Visitation is Thursday, February 20th, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Steve Yeaton officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Christian Cemetery near Versailles. Memorials may be made to the funeral home.
