Christine K. Graham's Obituary
Christine K. Graham, age 64 of Batesville, died Friday, July 11, 2014 at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis. Born June 27, 1950 in Canton, Ohio, she is the daughter of Margaret (Nee: King) and Robert Graham. She worked at the Srs. of St. Francis Convent in Oldenburg as their Wellness Coordinator.
Chris loved being with people. Her daughters laughed about mom having a busier social life than them and belonging to several dinner and bunco clubs. Her nurturing spirit came naturally as she enjoyed caring for others and her position at the convent suited her well. A dog lover, she had several German Shepherds over the years, with Cajun being her most recent. According to her daughters, it was quite normal for Chris to break into dance when she heard music. She was partial to books by Nora Roberts and it was probably a safe bet that when you walked into her house Fox News was on the television. Chris enjoyed Jameson Irish Whiskey, fishing and spending time by the water.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws Kate and Kenne Crocker of Indianapolis, Indiana, Allie and Kyle Benham of Los Angeles, California, brother Steve Graham and Mother and Father-in-law Emilie and Alex Korosi, all of Canton, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brother Robert “Bob” Graham.
The family will receive friends at the Community Church in Batesville located at the corner of Main and George Streets from 4-5 p.m. on Friday, July 18th. A memorial service will follow at 5 p.m., officiated by Rev. John Porter. Following services, a reception will be held at the Hillcrest Country Club. On Saturday, July 19th, the family will celebrate Chris at one of her favorite annual events, Freudenfest, in Oldenburg. Family and friends are welcome to join in the celebration of her life. The family requests memorials to the Ripley County Humane Society. Weigel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
