Over the years, Clara did quite a bit sewing, embroidery and cross stitching. Earlier in life she made many of her families clothes. Later she took up embroidering and cross stitching and began making quilts and crafts for her family. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune in addition to listening to country music. Clara donated countless hours volunteering her time and talents at New Horizons, Tri County Council for Special People, Holy Family Church and The Waters of Batesville, where she was recognized with a plaque for her efforts. Her family indicated mom was a excellent cook although don't ask what the surprise was in her tuna surprise. On the other hand, Clara's Hungarian Coffee Cake was among their favorites. She was always trying something new and then tweaking the recipe to her liking. According to the kids, "If you stopped at mom's you were expected to eat."
