Clara T. Heppner's Obituary
Clara T. Heppner (Nee: Gehring), age 89, of Oldenburg, Indiana, died Friday, March 16, 2007, in West Hills, California.Clara was born December 12, 1917 in Batesville, Indiana. She married Howard R. Heppner on May 21, 1941, at St. Louis Church in Batesville and he preceded her in death June 10, 1990. Clara was a lifelong resident of the Oldenburg area, where she and Howard were active in Oldenburg civic affairs over the years. Among her many activities was serving as a troop leader of the local Girl Scouts and in 1979, Clara was voted Woman of the Year by the Batesville Business and Professional Women’s Organization.Visitation will be at the Daily Mass Chapel at Holy Family Church on Thursday, March 22nd from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with rosary service at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be Friday, March 23rd at 10:00 a.m., with burial in the church cemetery. A meal will follow at Heppner Hall.Clara is survived by her son, Charles (Chuck) Heppner of Los Angeles, California and Glen Heppner of Fishers, Indiana. She has five grandchildren and one great granddaughter. In addition to her husband, she is also preceded in death by her daughter, Marie Radkey.Memorials may be made to Holy Family Church.
