Shelley –
Words cannot begin to express how sorry Becky and I are for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. We hope you are comforted by the many beautiful memories of love and happiness you have shared over the years.
Dave was such a kind man. After all of these years, I still feel profoundly blessed to have been Dave’s friend. From the very first day we met, it was clear he was a man of integrity and a big heart. He helped me, from day one, when he didn’t need to. He became my friend and mentor when no one asked him to. He was just that kind of person. He continued to be my friend through the years – through the great times and the terrible lows. He was always a thoughtful and devoted friend. I find it hard to accept that he’s no longer with us but am grateful for how he impacted my life. I want to thank him and want to thank you, Shelley. You have been by his side for many years and you made him into the wonderful person that we all knew and love.
I’d like to share one of my last funny memories of Dave. A week after my son’s wedding, Dave complimented me on giving such a nice speech. I joked he only wanted to suck up to me so I wouldn’t get him into trouble when we visited Vietnam in January. He laughed a lot and said the Vietnamese spoke English so he’d be just fine.
Rest in Peace, Dave.
