Deborah K. Harrington's Obituary
Deborah K. Harrington, age 61 of Batesville, died Thursday, January 20, 2011 at her residence. Born September 10, 1949 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Ethel “Myrt” (Nee: Mondary) and William Moody. She married Warren Harrington III on April 26, 1969 at St. Louis Church in Batesville and he preceded her in death October 2, 2002. Deb was store manager for Blanks Pharmacy which later became CVS Pharmacy for over 25 years. She also spent some time working for CIA. Deb was a dedicated, hard working individual. Her family indicated that although she enjoyed some leisure activities, work was her hobby. When she did relax, she liked to go fishing, take a walk or read. She was quiet by nature. The kids laughed when they mentioned her passion for shopping and remembering how the packages stayed in the car until morning and then brought them into the house after dad had left for work. They also remembered mom as practical. It was not often she could be surprised and rarely did she put herself in embarrassing situations. What they remember most is that mom was very caring and giving of her time. She was always lending a helping, caring hand and put others needs before hers. She is survived by her daughter Stephanie Rork of Batesville; son Jeff Harrington of Batesville; sisters Donna Ruggles of Milan, Indiana, Chris Vogelsang of Batesville, four grandchildren and a very special friend Joe Martin of Batesville. She is preceded in death by her father and precedes her mother in death. Visitation is Tuesday, January 25th, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 26th, at St. Louis Church with Rev. Stephen Akange officiating followed by burial in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to Hospice of Margaret Mary or Phi Beta Psi Sorority Cancer Research.
