Dennis A. Prickel's Obituary
Dennis A. Prickel, age 64 of Batesville, Indiana, died Thursday, December 17, 2015 at the University of Cincinnati Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born January 25, 1951, he is the son of Mary Jane (Nee: Laudick) and Norbert Prickel. Dennis was a Sprayer Inspector for the Batesville Casket Company, retiring after 45 years of service. He was a member of the Batesville Eagles Aerie #1130, Knights of Columbus Council #1461, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3183 Auxiliary and was a former member of the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271.To say Dennis was a sports fan was an understatement. He was a huge fan of I.U. Basketball and especially liked Coach Bob Knight. He proudly displayed I.U. plates on both his convertible and his Jeep, which he enjoyed taking rides in with the top down during the summer months. He also enjoyed following the Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football team. His true passion though was his family and friends, especially his children, grandchildren and his friends at the Eagle's, V.F.W. and Tuba's Place. He could often be found during the day eating lunch at Tuba's.He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Tammy and J.D. Renck of Batesville; son and daughter-in-law Travis and Jill Prickel of Batesville; grandchildren Halle and Jackson Renck and Will and Gus Prickel, all of Batesville; sisters and brother-in-law Linda Scott of Nashville, Michigan, Doris and Neil Fledderman of Batesville; brother and sister-in-law Robert and Carol Prickel of Batesville. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Ken Scott.Visitation will be held Monday, December 21st, from noon - 4 p.m., at the funeral home. Funeral services follow at 4 p.m., with Mike Ison officiating. The burial will follow at St. Louis Cemetery, with military graveside rites being conducted by the Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183 and by the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271. Memorials may be made to the Batesville Athletic Boosters.
