Diana L. Belter's Obituary
Diana L. Belter age 61 of Sunman, died Sunday, March 27, 2011 at her home. Born May 6, 1949 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Anna Mae (Nee: Paul) and Robert Flodder. She married Paul Belter November 27, 1965 at St. Louis Church in Batesville. Diana and Paul owned and operated Belter Trucking. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Church in Morris. Time spent with family was important to Diana. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, her family described her as a natural care giver, nurturing and “could put a smile on anyone’s face.” She also liked being outdoors. She would spend endless hours in her vegetable, rock and flower gardens. She was extremely proud of her roses. Her husband teased that her rock garden was really her “always” garden. “She was always re-arranging and re-working it.” Other outdoor activities she enjoyed were turkey and deer hunting. Diana also loved collecting antiques, especially Homer Lockland china, from flea markets and garage sales. As her children grew up and moved away, she adopted a couple of “kids” she called her babies…….Yorkshire Terriers Jack and Sarah. She had a weakness for McDonald’s coffee and would usually work her schedule that she could pick up a cup around 2 p.m. each day and then stop by to check on her dad. In 1999 Diana purchased her dream car, a new bright yellow Mustang GT. She is survived by her husband Paul; daughters Pam Goins of Batesville, RoxAnn Riggs of Laurel, Indiana, Rachel Hill of Crittenden, Kentucky; sons Brian and Billy Belter both of Batesville; father Bob of Batesville; sister Roberta Siebert of Batesville; brothers Bernie, Terry, Tim and George Flodder all of Batesville and grandchildren Cody, Jess and Sam Goins, Gabrielle and Jake Perkins, Nick Hill, Shane and Luke Belter, Andrew Holt, Nicole Hensley and great granddaughter Kiara Current. She is preceded in death by her mother Anna Mae.Visitation is Wednesday, March 30th, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday, March 31st, at St. Anthony’s Church in Morris with Rev. Pascal Nduka officiating. Burial will follow in St. Louis Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
