Dolores M. Amberger's Obituary
Dolores M. Amberger, age 78 of Batesville, Indiana, died Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at the Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. Born September 15, 1929 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Matilda (Nee: Gander) and Alvin Cramer. She married George Amberger February 16, 1950 at St. Louis Church in Batesville.Dolores worked in housekeeping at the Batesville Public Library for over 30 years and was a member of St. Louis Church. She also enjoyed numerous interests and hobbies. She was an accomplished seamstress who made beautiful dolls, pillows and quilts. Dolores was also an avid reader who preferred fiction and liked working crossword puzzles. She enjoyed helping her husband work in their garden and was an excellent baker. The grandkids always looked forward to her cookies and her husband loved her zucchini bread. Her family and the grandkids were her true passion, but she was also extremely fond of animals, especially cats.She is survived by her husband George, son John Amberger of Batesville, sister Aileen Koester of Greensburg, Indiana and three grandchildren. Visitation is Friday, September 12th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services follow at 1:30 p.m. at St. Louis Church with Rev. Dennis Duvelius officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospit
