Dottie L. Voegele's Obituary
Dottie L. Voegele, age 76 of Batesville, died Sunday, April 6, 2008, at Margaret Mary Hospital. Born July 20, 1931 in Hamilton, Ohio, she is the daughter of Estella (Nee: Grewe) and Leroy Brinkman. She married Tony Voegele Sr. November 26, 1949 at St. Louis Church in Batesville.Dottie’s passions were birds and flowers. It was common to see her at the various areas downtown which the beautification league cared for. She would spend the warm months nurturing, watering and weeding those beds and planting areas, resulting in an annual display of color and beauty to be enjoyed by all. In addition to the Batesville Beautification League, she was also a member of St. Louis Church and the St. Louis Altar Society. Dottie was a homemaker and worked at Danner's Five and Dime for 10 years.She is survived by her husband Tony Sr.; daughters Mary Voegele and Anne Wilson, both of Batesville; sons Tony Jr. of Batesville, Michael of Centerville, Ohio, Timothy of Greenwood, Indiana; sisters Carol Bigham of Bradenton, Florida, Mary Lou Riccardi of Marbury, Alabama, Gloria Becker of Crawfordsville, Indiana; brothers Eugene Brinkman of Hamilton, Ohio, Maurice “Baldy” Brinkman of Huntsville, Texas; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by brothers Francis, Gregory and Kenneth Brinkman.Visitation is Thursday, April 10th, from 9-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services follow at noon at St. Louis Church with Rev. Stephen Akange officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to the Batesville Beautification League or the St. Louis Altar Society.
