My dad was Martin, one of Betty Jo’s brothers. We were the one family that did not live in Batesville so Hilda (my godmother) and Betty Jo were my main ties to my dad’s family. Hilda to me was the “boss” and Betty Jo was the glue and caretaker. After the war when my dad was in grad school we spent almost every weekend in Batesville with my mom’s parents and my dad and I would visit my grandfather after Mass on Sunday morning. I spent my time mainly in the kitchen with Betty Jo. I’ll never forget her smile or her laugh. She always made me welcome and part of her family. I met Debbie, Joanne and Kay very early in their lives because my grandmother Westerman would let me venture to through Rosemont and walk to Betty Jo’s to play with the baby girls! So dear Debbie, Joanne, Kay and Diane, you had a wonderful mother aunt. She will be missed. Love, Anita
