Emil A. Gehring's Obituary
Emil A. Gehring, age 94 of Batesville, Indiana, died Monday, May 8, 2006 at The Waters of Batesville. He is the son of Barbara (Nee: Bedel) and Henry Gehring. He married Edna Flodder on June 12, 1937 at the Holy Family Church in Oldenburg and she preceded him in death on March 19, 1989. On September 29, 2001, he married Alvina Bessler at the Holy Family Church.Emil was the owner and operator of the Oldenburg Garage for 35 years, before retiring in 1974 and a member of the Holy Family Church.He is survived by his wife Alvina of Batesville; daughters Donna Mylenek of Madison Heights, Michigan, Karen Anderson of Yuma, Arizona; sons Dale Gehring of Tucson, Arizona, Keith Gehring of West Chester, Ohio; sister Emma Biltz of Brookville, Indiana; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife Edna, he was preceded in death by sisters Alvina Wenning, Louise Merkel, Evelyn Allgeier and brothers Ambrose, Allan, Collis and Leo Gehring.Visitation is Friday, May 12th, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 13th, at the Holy Family Church in Oldenburg, with Rev. Humbert Moster, O.F.M. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Holy Family Religious Education Fund.
