Emma R. Biltz's Obituary
Emma R. Biltz, age 87 of Batesville, died Monday, March 12, 2007, at Hospitality Hall in Batesville. Born September 2, 1919, in Oldenburg, Indiana, she is the daughter of Barbara (Nee: Bedel) and Henry Gehring. She married Nelson Biltz May 6, 1944, at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg and he preceded her in death November 12, 2001.Emma had many talents, with crocheting and tending to her flower beds and vegetable garden among her favorites. She also loved dancing and especially enjoyed German music and polkas. She was a life long member of Holy Family Church.She is survived by daughters Margo Dietz and Ann Obermeyer; sons Michael & David, all of Batesville; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by sisters Alvina Wenning, Louise Merkel, Evelyn Allgier and brothers Emil, Ambrose, Leo, Alan and Collus Gehring.Visitation is Friday, March 16th, from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services follow at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church, with Rev. Rock Travnikar O.F.M., officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Holy Family Religious Education Fund or Phi Beta Psi Sorority Cancer Research
