Eunice A. Boggs' Obituary
Eunice A. Boggs, age 80 of Oldenburg, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Margaret Mary Hospital. Born September 28, 1931 in Newport, Kentucky, she is the daughter of Dolores (Nee: Stegeman) and Lawrence Carr. She married David Boggs June 23, 1951 in Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky and he preceded her in death January 13, 2002. Eunice spent five years as a purchasing agent for Shillito’s Department Store in Cincinnati and later with her husband, opened the Oldenburg Gun Shop which they operated for twenty years.Eunice formerly served on the St. Mary’s School PTA in Alexandria, Kentucky and was a Cub Scout Den Leader for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed many hobbies. She was an avid reader and like the challenge of working Sudoku mathematical/number puzzles. Eunice also loved to play cards, especially “500” as well as board games. Her children fondly recalled what an excellent cook and baker she was. “Everything she made was delicious. In her younger years she would often make gourmet meals.” They also indicated mom was an accomplished seamstress and crocheted as well. Each grandchild received an afghan made by grandma which became cherished gifts.She is survived by her daughter Pat Flodder of Hamburg, Indiana; sons Thomas of Archdale, North Carolina, Daryl of Oldenburg; sister Catherine Poe of Florida; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by her brother Raymond Carr. Visitation is Friday, January 6th, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. A 10 a.m. graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate, Kentucky Saturday, January 7th. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Make A Wish Foundation.
