Floreen E. Steinfort-Gibson's Obituary
Floreen E. Steinfort-Gibson, age 79 of Batesville, Indiana and formerly of Harrison, Ohio, died Sunday, March 12, 2006, at The Waters of Batesville. Born August 11, 1926 in Hamilton County Ohio, she is the daughter of Mary (Nee: Minges) and William Hurst. She married Lloyd Steinfort on May 8, 1948 and he preceded her in death February 11, 1996. On September 20, 1997, she married Charles Gibson and he survives. Floreen was Secretery and Treasurer of the Batesville School Corporation for 25, retiring in 1989. She also was a member of Holy Family Church, Ripley Co. V.F.W. Post #3183 Ladies Auxiliary and the Phi Beta Psi Sorority.She is survived by husband Charles; sons and daughter-in-laws Den & Sharon Steinfort of Batesville, Ken & Tecla Steinfort of Harrison, Ohio, Tim & Imogene Steinfort of Batesville; stepdaughters Pam Meyer of Columbus, Indiana, Charla Gindling of Greensburg, Indiana; stepsons Brent Gibson of Batesville, Greg Gibson of Shelbyville, Indiana; grandsons Craig Steinfort of Chicago, Illinois, Chris Steinfort of West Lafayette, Indiana; sisters Marge Meier of Cedar Grove, Indiana, Delores Pope of Miamitown, Ohio, Sally Kocher of West Harrison, Indiana; brother Joe Hurst of Harrison, as well as additional step children, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband Lloyd, she is also preceded in death by her son Jimmie Steinfort, sister Marie "Sis" Getz and brother Bill Hurst.Visitation is Wednesday, March 15th, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. A rosary service will be held at 6 p.m. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg, with the Rev. Humbert Moster O.F.M. officiating. Burial will be in Adams Lutheran Cemetery. The family requests memorials to The Waters of Batesville Activity Fund.
