Frank A. Zakrajsek's Obituary
Frank A. Zakrajsek, age 73 of Batesville, Indiana and formerly of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, died Monday, November 9, 2009, at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville. Born April 6, 1936 in Milwaukee, he is the son of Anna Marie (Nee: Strukel) and Frank J. Zakrajsek. He married Jane Kotlarek May 24, 1958 in Milwaukee. Frank worked for Procter & Gamble as an industrial engineer for 30 years before retiring in 1997. He was a member of Holy Family Church in Oldenburg, Indiana. While Jane and her children were recalling some of their favorite memories of their husband and dad, some re-occurring traits began to run through them. They all agreed that Frank’s faith was very important to him. Equally important was time spent with family. This love of family also extended to time spent with friends and being around people. Lastly, he was a dedicated working man. Staying busy and doing the job right were qualities he expected of himself and others. Frank was extremely resourceful, he could analyze the situation, design a solution and build to design. Not one to spend much time in front of the T.V., he did enjoy Fox News and the O’Reilly Factor. His one indulgence was his passion for Xavier University Basketball, where he was a season ticket holder for years. He is survived by his wife Jane; daughter Lynn Kennedy of Gainesville, Georgia; sons Scott of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Joe of Saline, Michigan; brothers Jerome Zakrajsek of Fredonia, Wisconsin, Frederick Zak of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin and four grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation is Saturday, November 14th, from 9-10 a.m. at Holy Family Church and funeral services follow at 10 a.m. with Rev Rock Travnikar O.F.M. officiating and Rev. David Kobak O.F.M. co-concelebrating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to the Franciscan Friars Retirement Fund.
