George O. Brewer's Obituary
George O. "Omer" Brewer, age 89 of Kettering, Ohio and formerly of Batesville, Indiana, died Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at the Walnut Creek Nursing Home in Kettering. He was born February 2, 1917 in Willhurst, Kentucky and is the son of Pearl (Nee: Graham) and Wes Brewer. He married Marian Holowadel on September 27, 1947 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville, Indiana and she preceded him in death on September 25, 1993.Omer served in the Army during WWII and is a member of the Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183. He was a laborer for Frigidaire - General Motors for 30 years, before retiring in 1976.Omer is survived by his sister Daisy Clinger of Donnellon, Florida; brother James Brewer of Batesville, Indiana and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Marian and parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters JoAnn Vogelsang and Faye Bessler.Visitation is Thursday, October 12th, from 5-7 p.m., with a prayer service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 13th, at the funeral home, with Rev. Bernard Varghese officiating. The burial will follow at St. Louis Cemetery in Batesville, with military graveside rites conducted by the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271 and the Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183. The family request memorials to the Hospice of Dayton.
