Gloria R. Koors' Obituary
Gloria R. Koors, age 78 of Batesville, died Sunday, July 29, 2012 at the Waters of Batesville. Born November 28, 1933 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Felicia (Nee: Ferkinhoff) and Randolph Firsich. She married James Koors December 29, 1954 at St. Louis Church. Gloria was a homemaker and member of St. Louis Church, the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271 Ladies Auxiliary and the Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183 Ladies Auxiliary.Her family indicated that mom was an excellent cook and baker. While everything she made was delicious, they said her pies were the best you could find anywhere. Along with Jim, she was active with Legion functions but quiet time was spent on her porch swing or crocheting. She liked watching Jeopardy and although her family teased her, she also had a couple of soaps she enjoyed. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and she definitely loved having them around. Gloria is survived by her husband Jim; daughter Tress Zielinski of Batesville; sons Andy of Batesville, Tony of Indianapolis; sister Iris Huneke of Greensburg; brother Jim Firsich of Greensburg; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her daughter Tammy Koors and sister Mim Kerker.Visitation is Wednesday, August 1st, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday, August 2nd, at St. Louis Church with Rev. Randy Summers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to Hospice of Margaret Mary Hospital or the Prell-Bland American Legion.
