Harold Caudill's Obituary
Harold Caudill, age 82 of Batesville, died Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Margaret Mary Hospital. Born April 13, 1930 in Letcher County Kentucky, he is the son of Ettie and Byron Caudill. He married Cellie Fields February 8, 1950 in Jeremiah, Kentucky. He was a member of the Batesville Christian Church and worked as a fork lift operator at Hill-Rom for 25 years before retiring.Harold was a family man plain and simple. He treasured having his children and grandchildren around the house and especially loved the holidays when the family would all gather together. It was always a little sad when the holidays were over and everyone went home. He usually had double mint gum or wintergreen lifesavers in his pocket to share with or entice the grandkids. He and Cellie raised a huge garden for years because he always wanted to make sure there was plenty of food put away for the winter. A talented woodworker, he built the cabinets for his home and liked to make wooden holiday decorations which helped keep him busy after retiring. Harold and Cellie also loved to go camping and have the family join them. In addition to being a Bengals, Reds and Kentucky Wildcat fan, he never missed the news and watched Judge Judy too. The kids teased that it was more entertaining watching dad watch Judge Judy since he would argue with her and holler at the T.V. if he didn’t agree. He is survived by his wife Cellie; daughters Luettie Harrison of Batesville, Tilda Fruchtnicht of Napoleon, Melissa Broughton of Batesville; sons Dexter of Milan, Wilson of Batesville, Carlos of Milan, David of Greensburg; sisters Jane Blair of Jeremiah, Kentucky, Adeline Hampton of Premium, Kentucky, Imogene York of Hanover, Indiana; brothers Carl of Batesville, Bert, Burnett and Bruce, all of Jeremiah, Kentucky; 22 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his daughter Ranie Molnar; sons Timothy and Monroe; sister Elaine Caudill and his brother Earl.Visitation is Monday, January 28th, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services are Noon Tuesday, January 29th at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Yeaton officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Cemetery near Versailles. Memorials may be made to the family.
