Herman J. Barnhorst's Obituary
Herman J. Barnhorst, age 91 of Batesville, Indiana, died Monday, May 8, 2006 at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville. He is the son of Caroline (Nee: Jansing) and Louis Barnhorst. He married Irene Fritsch on April 6, 1940 at St. Paul's Church in New Alsace, Indiana.Herman enjoyed farming and also worked at the Ford-Philco Co. in Connersville, Indiana, for 30 years. He was a member of the St. Louis Church and V.F.W. Post #9987 in Napoleon.He is survived by his wife Irene of Batesville; sons Raymond of Columbus, Indiana, Paul of Helena, Montana, Robert of Cincinnati, Ohio, Gerald of Edinburgh, Indiana; half sister Mary Fritsch of New Alsace; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sister Viola Fischer; brothers Elmer and Robert Barnhorst and one grandson.Visitation is Wednesday, May 10th, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 11th at the St. Maurice Church in Napoleon, Indiana with Rev. Rob Hankee officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Napoleon V.F.W. Post #9987. Memorials may be made to the St. Maurice Hall Fund or to the St. Louis Cemetery Fund.
