Hubert R. "Mac" McDonald's Obituary
Hubert R. "Mac" McDonald, age 71 of Batesville, Indiana and formerly of Pensacola, Florida, died Thursday, October 12, 2006 at his residence. Born September 22, 1935 in Donalsonville, Georgia, he is the son of Nannie Mae (Nee: Faircloth) and William McDonald Sr. He married Judy Cotton February 1, 1960 in Reno, Nevada. Mac retired from the United States Navy in 1989, after a 30 year career. He enjoyed woodworking and over the years, he and Judy worked together creating many pieces. Survivors include his wife Judy; daughters Tammy Schmidt of Batesville, Teresa Kepner of West Lafayette, Indiana; sisters Sophia Ernest of Donalsonville, Georgia, Marjorie Anderson of Nashville, Tennessee, Kate Mitchell of Jakin, Georgia; brothers William McDonald Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida, Cecil McDonald of Cairo, Georgia, Ralph McDonald of Moultrie, Georgia, Wayne McDonald of Cairo, Georgia and one grandson. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother Grady McDonald.Visitation is Monday, October 16th, from Noon to 2 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, with services following at 2 p.m. His brothers Rev. Ralph McDonald and Rev. Wayne McDonald will officiate and burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Manchester, Indiana. Memorials may be made to Batesville E.M.S. or to the Hansen Center.
