Irene H. Effing's Obituary
Irene H. Effing, age 90 of Oldenburg, died Saturday, January 5, 2006, at The Waters of Batesville. Born July 30, 1916 in Indianapolis, she is the daughter of Hazel (Nee: Bowman) and Shird Rodabaugh. She married Bernard Effing August 30, 1933 at Immaculate Conception Church in Covington, Kentucky. He preceded her in death in 1969.Irene was a homemaker and a member of Holy Family Church, the Holy Family Ladies Society and was active in the Franklin County Senior Citizens. She is survived by daughters and son-in-laws Mary & Ralph Moorman of Oldenburg, Susie & Harold Huff of Osgood, Jo Ann & Gene Schoetmer of Oldenburg, Betsy & Bob Lecher of Oldenburg, Ruth & Sylvester Riehle of Sunman, Millie & Mark Simmermeyer of St. Mary’s, Diane & Lou Wendell of Batesville, Debbie & Roy Nobbe of Oldenburg; son and daughter-in-law Jim & Margaret Effing of Batesville; 37 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by her son Bob.Visitation is Monday, January 8th, from 4-8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, with a rosary service at 5:30 p.m. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 9th, at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg with Rev. Rock Travnikar officiating, followed by burial in St. Anne’s Cemetery at Hamburg. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Margaret Mary Hospital or St. Anne’s Cemetery Fund.
