James Orlyn Knisley - Jim, Jimmy, Dad, Grandpa, Uncle - left us far too soon, on March 6, 2022, at the age of 63. He was joined in death by his beloved wife, Marysue Knisley (née Luhring). He is survived by his four children, Jas Read Obituary
My sincerest condolences to the Knisley family! I truly enjoyed working with Jim over the years at IBM. Dan Barham and John Northway can still remember our briefing trip to Heidelberg in Germany with the Statefarm team. Jim's excellent driving skills helped us to get the van out of the downtown parking garage. We decided to walk afterwards which added up to 15 miles that day. Jim was respected at work and always fun to be around. He will be missed!!!

Sincere condolences to Jim’s family members. Jim was an awesome IBM colleague, I’ve had the honor to work with Jim for the last 7 years. He was a true professional, great dedication and perseverance as he worked for the success of both IBM and our customers. Jim was always a great friend and person to talk to, I have appreciated Jim’s sharing of work life balance perspectives and wisdom, information on great places to travel. In particular, I will always remember Jim when we visit Zion National Park, the Gulf side of Florida, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and many other places he shared with me.

There were so many things to like and admire about Jim. He was such a kind person - and eager to laugh and have a great time. And, it was frankly impossible to have anything but a great time with Jim. I remember many conversations about the deep scattering layer, which were fascinating, over some great meals and drinks. Heck, everything about Jim was fascinating. He was equally comfortable at a Hard Rock Cafe as he was at the fanciest steakhouse we could find. And with Jim, I didn't really care which one we were at - his company was enough. Like everyone else, I only wish I had more time to spend with my friend.
