Jane Gutzwiller's Obituary
Jane Gutzwiller, 78, of Batesville died Wednesday February 29, 2012. Born February 13, 1934 in Sharpsburg, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Vertna (Karrick) Warren and Clark Warren. Jane was one of the original owners of the East Bowl and Keg & Kettle in 1964, which she owned and managed for over 20 years. She was an avid dog lover and had a variety of dogs over the years. Jane enjoyed golf which she loved to play and then watch in later years. She was extremely proud of her hole-in-one at Hillcrest! Most of all Jane loved life. She had many friends and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends celebrating life. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, a Kentucky Colonel (since 1968), Hillcrest Golf & Country Club, Eagles Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary.Jane is survived by her daughter Barbara England, Sunman, daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Henry Hearns, Wellington Florida; sons and daughters-in-law Harold and Laura Gutzwiller Mooresville, Indiana and John and Laurie Gutzwiller, Batesville; half-sister and brother-in-law Alice and John Ryder; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildrenShe was preceded in death by her parents; brother Delbert Warren; sister Faye Huneke and son-in-law Richard England.Visitation is Monday, March 5, from 4-7 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, with visitation one hour prior to services at St. John’s United Church of Christ with the Rev. Dave Johnston officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to Ripley County Humane Society, Batesville Hospice or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
