Janey Obermeyer's Obituary
Janey Obermeyer, age 62 of Oldenburg, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born October 8, 1949 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Anelda (Nee: Stevens) and George Moll. She married Eddie Obermeyer July 29, 1972 at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg. Janey spent two years with the FBI as a fingerprint technician and 35 years with Hill-Rom as an assembler/upholsterer before retiring in 2008. She was also a member of the Oldenburg Knights of St. John Ladies Auxiliary #127. Janey loved her grandkids and traveling. She often combined both and would travel to different parts of the country or overseas to see her children and grandchildren. She and Eddie also liked to travel and their trip to Alaska was one of her favorites. Janey was very devout. She attended daily mass, would take communion to shut-ins, for many years taught CCD and very active in the Knights of St. John’s Ladies Auxiliary. Her kids teased about mom’s taste in shoes and about being a bargain hunter, using coupons and rewards to do most of her shopping. To see her and Eddie out walking was common. Apparently she had a knack of finding loose change when they were out and would save it to give to the grandchildren. She also kept junk food in her purse and would spoil the grandkids with it. Some other things you might not know about Janey is she liked romance novels, Disney movies, anything on T.V. Land (especially if it is in black and white), eating shrimp and flower gardening, although according to her family she didn’t have a green thumb……….unless weeds count. She is survived by her husband Eddie; daughters and son-in-laws Marcie and Matt Trossman of Oldenburg, Denie and Mike Arnold of Bonaire, Georgia; sons and daughter-in-laws Jason and Michelle Obermeyer of Marysville, Washington, Chad and Erika Obermeyer of Orange Park, Florida; sisters Margie Dinn of Indianapolis, Barb Brannigan of Indianapolis, Ruthie Koetter of Greensburg, Rita Paul of Batesville, Betty Rominger of Oldenburg, Dottie Hoff of Batesville; brothers Joe Moll of Milan, Mike Moll, Paul Moll and Jerry Moll, all of Batesville, mother Anelda Moll of Batesville and 13 grandchildren. In addition to her father, she is also preceded in death by brothers Tony and Bill Moll.Visitation is Tuesday, April 10th, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 11th, at Holy Family Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to the Oldenburg Knights of St. John Ladies Auxiliary #127 or the Holy Family Religious Education Fund.
