Jerome A. Niehoff's Obituary
Jerome A. Niehoff, age 67 of Hamburg, Indiana, died Sunday, November 9, 2008, at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville. Born July 23, 1941 in Rush County Indiana, he is the son Philomena (Nee: Effing) and Otto Niehoff. He married Rosalia Wesseler November 7, 1964 at St. Paul’s Church in New Alsace, Indiana.Jerry served in the Army National Guard as a Sergeant and Squad Leader from 1961 to 1966. He worked for the Hill-Rom Company in Batesville as a laborer and utility man before retiring in 2003 after 43 years. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting for as Rosie said, “Anything with four legs, but especially squirrels.” Several years ago he purchased an antique McCormick Farmall tractor, which he would enter in parades. He is survived by his wife Rosie; sons Gary and Larry, both of Hamburg; sisters Mary Ann Lows of Moores Hill, Indiana, Norma Maddux of Greensburg, Indiana and brother Donald Niehoff of Hamburg.Visitation is Wednesday, November 12th, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home with a rosary service at 4 p.m. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday, November 13th, at St. Anne’s Church in Hamburg with Rev. David Kobak O.F.M. officiating. The family requests memorials to St. Rita’s School for the Deaf in Cincinnati (Evendale) Ohio.
