Judy "Chris" Wells' Obituary
Judy "Chris" Wells, age 69 of Dover, Indiana, was promoted to Heaven on Tuesday, June 23, 2015. She was born September 1, 1945 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She married her best friend, Bill "Beeper" Wells, August 14, 1967 in Knoxville and then made their home in Dover. Blessed with two children, her daughter's family, Amanda, David, Justin and Caleb Harper of New Alsace, Indiana and her son's family, Josh, Teresa and Waylon Wells of Dover. She is survived by her sister Dee Varner and brother Jerry Prater, both of Knoxville. Chris is preceded in death by her mother Onilee Prater-Hahn and sister JoAnn Hawk.
Chris' life was a living example of what God intended a wife, mother and friend to be. She always put others before herself and had a knack for showing up at the right time to comfort or help in any way. She loved to cook and entertain and always had a kind word or smile for those she met. She enjoyed volunteering at the Dearborn County Hospital as a Pink Lady for years and was very involved in her church. She spent the last several years at Ripley Crossing in Milan with dementia where she received excellent care from the nurses.
Chris is a loving example that touched and changed so many lives. The world is a better place because she was in it. She leaves this world with a promise from God to spend forever in paradise with Him and she has reached the ultimate goal of hearing, "well done my good and faithful servant."
Visitation will be Saturday, June 27th, from 9 - 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Charles Miller officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery near Weisburg. The family requests memorials to the Chris Wells Nursing Scholarship Fund.
