Justin H. "Junky" Moorman's Obituary
Justin H. “Junky” Moorman, age 86 of Batesville, died Monday, November 14, 2011, at Morning Breeze in Greensburg. Born May 12, 1925 in Oldenburg, Indiana, he is the son of Pauline (Nee: Hellmich) and George Moorman. He married Evelyn Davis June 2, 1945 at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg. Junky was co-owner of the Batesville Feed Mill for 50 years and always enjoyed the customer appreciation dinners they held each year. In his free time, he had two passions. He loved golf and bowling. In addition to the weekends, on Wednesdays the mill closed at noon and usually without fail Junky would take to the golf course with his son Jeff, cousins and friends for an afternoon of golf. He was also league bowler for many years. His children remember how he was particular about his appearance, his senses of humor, reading the Sunday comics to them when they were little, his politeness to others and the pride he had for his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Evelyn; daughters Cindy Heidt of Versailles, Steffani Moorman of Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania; sons David of Sinking Springs, Pennsylvania, Jeffrey of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister Katy Schroeder of Batesville; brother Don of Batesville; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother Eugene, sister Georgene Stein and granddaughter Holli. Visitation and services will be private. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183 and the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271. Memorials may be made to Phi Beta Psi Sorority Cancer Research and sent to the funeral home in care of the family.
