Kathryn V. Fischer's Obituary
Kathryn Virginia Fischer (Nee: Connett) age 84 of Batesville and formerly of Greenville, Pennsylvania, Hudson, Ohio and Malvern, Ohio, went to be with the love of her life, her late husband Robert, on August 17, 2012. Born November 29, 1927 in Washington, D.C., she is the daughter of Isabelle (Nee: Abel) and Manning Connett. She married Robert Fischer May 22, 1948 in Norfolk, Virginia and he preceded her in death August 11, 2001. Kathryn was a mom first and enjoyed raising her children with love and encouragement to become parents of their own. Bob and Kathryn raised their children and grandchildren in a fun, loving and tutoring environment that included water skiing, snow skiing, golf and many other outdoor activities to coincide with their education. Kathryn began working as a telephone operator to help start her family, and then became a full time mom until her children were grown, when she became a successful realtor in Hudson for 15 years before retiring. Kathryn had a great knack of beautifully designing and decorating other’s homes, but could never make a decision about her own. Family and friends always came first and she had a tireless patience with her son and all children alike as her greatest accomplishments and attributes will always be remembered as being a dedicated daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law and friend.She is survived by children Susan (Doug) Williamson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Rob (Christine) Fischer of Malvern, Ohio, Autumn (Bob) Hurm of Batesville, grandchildren Erin and Megan Williamson, Emily and Madelyn Fischer, Mathew, Nathan, Hanna, Katie and Nick Hurm, great grandchildren Lucas, Toby and Lanai as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by her grandson DJ Williamson, brother William Connett and sister Jean McCrary.There will be no local services. The family will greet guests from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva, Ohio. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Allen Hill officiating. Burial next to her devoted husband will be at Bethlehem Cemetery in Malvern, Ohio, immediately following services. The family requests memorials to the Lake Mohawk Kids Recreation Fund and may be sent to 1 Mohawk Drive, Malvern, Ohio, 44644.
