Lawrence J. Kruthaupt's Obituary
Lawrence J. Kruthaupt, age 94 of Morris, died Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at The Waters of Batesville. Born July 18, 1915 in Franklin County Indiana, he is the son of Lena (Nee: Kiefer) and Henry Kruthaupt. He married Agatha Wespesser April 3, 1937 at St. Michael’s Church in Brookville, Indiana. He worked for Thomas Dryer Construction before retiring in 1981 and was a member of St. Anthony’s Church in Morris.Lawrence was a “people person”. He loved being around people and visiting with them whether it was at a church function, a social gathering or the barber shop. He was one of those individuals who never knew a stranger and the topic of conversation didn’t matter. It could range from farming to sports to politics. To stay abreast of current events, Lawrence always watched the evening news and kept up with the newspaper. Although health issues slowed him in later years, his family recalls the huge garden he used to plant each year to help he and Agatha feed their family of seven. Something many probably didn’t know was that Lawrence was a huge fan of game shows and westerns. He is survived by his daughters Dolores Kunkel of Sunman, Indiana, Bernadine Kunkel of Brookville, Indiana; sons James of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, John of Morris, Richard of Kentucky, Walter of Wilton, Connecticut, Michael of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. In addition to his wife Agatha and his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sisters Margaret Ripperger, Martha Stewart, Matilda Hauserman, Christina Roell and brothers Henry, Ambrose and Edward. Visitation is Friday, February 5th, from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home with a rosary service at 8:45 a.m. Funeral services follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church and burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Pascal Nduka will officiate. The family requests memorials to St. Anthony’s Building Restoration Fund.
