Lawrence A. Meyer's Obituary
Lawrence A. Meyer, age 76 of Oldenburg, died Monday, August 26, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. Born July 26, 1937 in Batesville, he is the son of Mary Ann (Nee: Gerhling) and Carl Meyer. He married Ruth Moeller June 11, 1957 at St. Anne’s Church in Hamburg. Larry was an over the road truck driver at Hill-Rom for 25 years before becoming an independent owner and operator for nearly 25 years. He was a member of the United States Trotting Association, Holy Family Church and the Knights of Columbus #1461. Larry is survived by his wife Ruth; daughter and son-in-laws Debra and Brian Krieger of Batesville, Denise and Roger Hartman of Indianapolis, Darlene Meyer of Bloomington, Indiana; son and daughter-in-law Doug and Susan Meyer of Oldenburg; brothers George of Hamburg, James of Batesville, Dennis of Batesville, Thomas of Oldenburg; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his son Dale.Visitation is Friday, August 30th, from 9 – 11:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church. Funeral services follow at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. David Kobak O.F.M. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to the Dale Meyer Memorial Award or to the Oldenburg Little League.
