Leona C. Suding, age 91 of Batesville, Indiana, died Monday, December 18, 2006, at The Waters of Batesville. Born June 1, 1915 in Batesville, Indiana, she is the daughter of Elizabeth (Nee: Starke) and John B. Nauert. She married Joseph J. Suding on August 19, 1931 at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville and he preceded her in death on November 7, 1994.Leona was a homemaker and worked for the 5 & Dime Fair Store in Batesville. She was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church and its Ladies Society and the Batesville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.She is survived by her daughter Virginia Mellene-Stewart of Batesville, Indiana; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Joseph and parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Florence Effinger.Visitation is Wednesday, December 20th, from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the St. Louis Church in Batesville. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 20th , at noon at St. Louis Church, with Rev. Dennis Duvelius officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the charity of the donors choice.
